Parish News

Gainford Parish News is a fantastic monthly magazine printed in colour and is free to all those living in the Gainford and Winston areas.  It is delivered to both residents and businesses.

For a small cost non-residents can have copies posted to them. 

This high quality magazine is produced by volunteers and funded by donations.

Neighbourhood Plan

Our Neighbourhood Plan is being developed to ensure that Gainford and Langton remains a beautiful, historic and vibrant village in the years ahead. 

A Neighbourhood Plan is the only statutory opportunity for parish councils to ensure its parishioners voices and views are heard when it comes to major planning decisions.

Gainford Village Hall

Montalbo Village Hall situated in the centre of the village, opposite St Osmund’s Church and boasting a small car park.  The village hall is the centre of village social life with regular weekly activities for residents of all ages.

Gainford Parish Charitable Trust

Gainford Parish Charitable Trust was set up in 1990 to provide financial assistance to schemes or initiatives within the parish that benefit the community of Gainford. Any non-profit making organisation or event could be eligible. You do not need to be a registered charity to be eligible for a grant. The trust can give cash grants to anything that contributes to village life.

Sports & Recreation Field

Leased from Raby Estates by the Parish Council the Sports and Recreation Field is open to all residents to use for exercise and sport.  

DOGS MUST NOT BE EXERCISED ON THE FIELD. 

The sports field is currently used by the Cross Keys FC for their home matches on Sunday mornings and for multi-sports coaching for children every Saturday morning. 

Please contact the Parish Council if you wish to book the field, however you may use if for personal fitness and recreation without booking.

Open 6 days a week, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm and Saturday, 9am to 12.30pm. 

Postal collections from the box on the main road outside the Post Office are made at 5pm weekdays and 11.15am, Saturdays.  

Collections from the post boxes on Eden Crest and North Terrace are made early morning. 

Postal services include car tax as well as banking, money grams, gift cards, gas, electric and mobile top ups. 

The Cross Keys

Our village pub is situated in the heart of the village with a car park to the rear, bordering the main A67 and the front of the pub facing south towards the village green. 

The Landlord is Ian Ross who has been in the Cross Keys for more than 20 years. 

A traditional pub which boasts a separate pool and function room.

Whinfield Farm Nurseries

A local seasonal plant nursery which grows and sells a wide range of plants including annuals, shrubs, roses, perennials and herbs. 

Situated at the bottom of Grant Bank on the north side of the A67, this secluded nursery has a car park and boasts a cafe serving snacks, cakes, tea and coffee.
