Volunteers assembled this morning as part of the Coronation Volunteering Monday. Great job done to dig out mud and grass to lay new aggregate at the entrance to the sports field improving drainage and access. New chicken wire protection on the gates and damaged small goals were removed and replaced with new portable goals. Thank you to all who grafted in the pouring rain.

Despite the heavy rain, many families turned out on Monday 8th May to tidy up Gainford as part of the Coronation celebrations. 5 teams of litter pickers cleared riverbanks and the Village Green, and filled 8 bags!

The guerrilla gardeners were active too, and the east and west gates are cleaned and planted up.

Even the stone bus stop had a spring clean, and it might even be ready for a makeover!
